What’s New and What’s Leaving Netflix July 2016

Golly gee willickers, Batman! I’ve never seen so many Netflix originals released in a single month! In June, we got a new season of — one of — Netflix’s most popular originals, Orange is the New Black. In July, we can look forward to finally watching highly anticipated new seasons and brand new series of original and exclusive content. However, as greatness arrives, greatness leaves. We will see the departure of cult classics like the original Star Trek movies and a couple of Stanley Kubrick’s best. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a gander below to get excited, and a little sad, to see what’s new and leaving Netflix July 2016.

What’s New:

Before we get to the Netflix originals, let’s take a look at some of the classics. Batman: The Movie, from 1966, along with Catwoman, will be joining the host of other Batman movies already on Netflix. If the Dark Knight isn’t quite up your ally, you can take the DeLorean for yet another ride back to the past in the Back to the Future trilogy. And if this lineup isn’t lethal enough, you can watch all four Lethal Weapons. Did we mention that these are all released on July 1?

Now, for the originals (and the exclusives). If you have a 4K TV, you might already know that Marco Polo can be viewed in 4K. Although uncertain if season 2 will also be in 4K, you can be certain that you can binge-watch it July 1. Even if you weren’t a fan of Will Arnett in Flaked, you might be a really big fan of his voice acting in BoJack Horseman. Good news if you are: season 2 is being released July 22. As you take a look below, it’s easy to notice that Netflix is really ramping up their originals.

What’s Leaving:

Beam me up Scottie! The Starship Enterprise is gearing into warp drive as the entire original series of movies leaves Netflix on July 1. This means there is just one more weekend to queue them up for a binge-watching. The same day will see both Flintstones movies become as ancient as Bedrock. Also, if you need a dose of Stanley Kubrick, you are not alone. Be sure to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange before they depart on July 1.
